PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stator structure of a rotating electric machine in which a stator cover comprising a cover surface that forms a gap for winding a coil is used for improved efficiency in winding operation of the coil without any possibility of loosening of the coil. SOLUTION: In the stator structure of a rotary electric machine, a stator cover formed from insulating material is attached on the end face on both sides of the stator core where a plurality of magnetic poles on which a coil is wound are protruded on the inner surface, and a stator coil is wound through the stator cover. Cover surfaces 30 facing the end faces of stator covers 20<SB>1</SB>and 20<SB>2</SB>are provided to connect to the inner peripheral side of the stator covers 20<SB>1</SB>and 20<SB>2</SB>. An opening for winding a stator coil 40 on the stator core 10 through the stator covers 20<SB>1</SB>and 20<SB>2</SB>is formed between the stator covers 20<SB>1</SB>and 20<SB>2</SB>and the outer peripheral side of the cover surface 30.
