PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the Combo television receiver capable of preventing display mistake of the closed caption (CC) while the TVGuardian (TVG) is provided to an external media reproducing apparatus (DVD drive). SOLUTION: When a microcomputer 28 revises CC channel extract information for denoting which CC channel a CC slicer 26 extracts and sets the revised information to an EEPROM, the microcomputer 28 detects the revision and informs a DVD microcomputer 36c about the revised CC channel. Further, when a DVD reproduction section 36 outputs a video signal, the DVD microcomputer 36c sets the notified CC channel to CC channel insertion information for denoting to which CC channel the closed caption included in a DVD is inserted and an output of the inserted CC channel.
