PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foundation construction method which is easily carried out by excavating a groove-like hole in the ground, setting a portal foundation form having a mounting portion on an upper portion thereof, at a predetermined location in the groove-like hole, mounting a longitudinally extending form-like block on the mounting portion, and placing concrete in the foundation form and in a space in the form-like block. SOLUTION: According to the foundation construction method, the groove-like hole 10 is excavated in the ground, and the foundation form 20 having the mounting portion on the upper portion thereof, is set at the predetermined location in the groove-like hole 10, followed by mounting the longitudinally extending block 31 on the mounting portion. Then a vertical reinforcement 40 held by the foundation form 20, for vertically guiding the block 31 is vertically arranged, and thereafter the concrete is placed in the foundation form 20 and in the space in the block 31, to thereby construct a foundation.
