PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide western-style confectionery obtained by circularly winding sponge dough as a base so as to have palate feeling and volume feeling like those of a roll cake, and newly designed so as to have a tower shape. SOLUTION: The western-style confectionery 4 is made as follows: winding almost fan-shaped or semicircular sponge dough 1 formed to have a prescribed thickness around the center 3 of its bottom face as a base point into a spiral state at a cross-sectional view so as to be formed into an almost cone shape, and cutting the bottom face of the obtained cone-shaped body into a flat state to be a self-standing one.
