The method involves installing a database on a drive and copying the database and a transaction directory on another drive. The database is then copied on a storage medium e.g. compact disk-read only memory. A data set is added to the database on the former drive and a transaction entry is added into the transaction directory on the latter drive. A supplementary transaction directory is copied on to the storage medium. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method of recovering a database (2) a filial system for performing a method of securing a database.
