Provided is a compact image formation system using a reflector which can be mounted on a vehicle. The image formation optical system includes three reflectors (103, 107, 109). When an XYZ orthogonal coordinate system is decided with a Z-axis as the optical axis at the center of the field of view, the direction of optical axis on the YZ cross section is changed while maintaining the direction of the optical axis on the XZ cross section so that the optical axis of the center of the field of view is parallel to the optical axis of the image plane. In order to reduce the aberration, at least one of the reflectors has a shape of the YZ cross section asymmetric to the Z-axis of the local coordinate of the respective reflection planes.
