<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a more practicable metal complex catalyst carried by a polymer, having a simple structure, easily produceable at a low cost and excellent in the points of recovering and reusing properties or the like; and to provide a ligand for a catalyst, suitable for preparing the catalyst. <P>SOLUTION: The metal complex carried by the polymer is obtained by bringing a phosphorus-containing styrene-based copolymer (A) obtained by copolymerizing 25-90 mol% styrene monomer (1a), 1-70 mol% p-phosphine group-containing styrene (2a) and 1-30 mol% divinylbenzene (3a) [with the proviso that the total percentage of monomers (1a), (2a) and (3a) is 100 mol%] into contact with a metal salt or transition metal complex represented by formula (B): M-X<SB>q</SB>L<SB>r</SB>(wherein, M is a transition metal atom such as Pd, or an ion thereof; X is a halogen ion or the like; L is a ligand such as triphenylphosphine; and q and r are each an integer of ≥0), and contains 0.1-20 wt.% transition metal atom or transition metal ion M expressed in terms of the amount of the transition metal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
