<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable to exclude automatically a file in an ash can holder from an object to be printed in direct printing from a USB memory. <P>SOLUTION: A printing apparatus to which an external recording medium can be connected includes a controlling unit (100) for controlling printing and a printing engine (200) executing the printing. The controlling unit searches a directory and files in the external recording medium in accordance with connection of the external recording medium (300), detects the file in the directory having a hidden attribute and the file having the hidden attribute, and perform excluding processing of the object to be printed which makes the files in which the file in the directory detected and the file detected are excluded as the objective files to be printed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
