<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluid inlet device for an apparatus, particularly for a column 2. <P>SOLUTION: This device comprises an inflow stub 3 and a deflection unit 1, which, on the downstream side, is adjacent to the inflow stub 3 and is provided with curved guide layer plates 11, 12, 13. Partial streams of the center and side part, i.e., 131, 132, 133 and 134, 135, 136, are produced from a feed fluid in the flow of the fluid by a deflection unit, and the flow can be calmed down by interaction in the center region of the apparatus. The deflection unit includes an input zone provided with a plurality of inlet passages 31, 32, ..., 36 of which the cross section is uniform.
