<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an error in transmitting rotation by reducing or avoiding backlash during the meshing of a pair of gears with each other. <P>SOLUTION: The gear device is provided for transmitting rotating motion between two shafts with the pair of gears G<SB>1</SB>, G<SB>2</SB>combined and meshed with teeth 1, 2 of other opposed gears. One gear G<SB>1</SB>out of the pair of gears has an abutting stepped portion 6 formed on part of both side tooth faces of each tooth 1 so that the sectional shape of each tooth 1 in a plane parallel to a rotating shaft O<SB>1</SB>is tapered narrower than the tooth shape of a standard gear. The other gear G<SB>2</SB>has an abutting stepped portion 7 formed on part of both side tooth faces of each tooth 2 so that the sectional shape of each tooth 2 in a plane parallel to a rotating shaft O<SB>2</SB>is tapered wider than the tooth shape of the standard gear. The other opposed gears G<SB>1</SB>, G<SB>2</SB>are meshed with each other so that the abutting portions 6, 7 in the sectional shapes of the teeth 1, 2 abut on each other in the direction of the rotating shafts. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
