PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricant deterioration detector capable of detecting the presence of a lubricant in a bearing under use, and the bearing with a detector provided with the lubricant deterioration detector. SOLUTION: This lubricant deterioration detector 1 includes a transparent member 2 arranged to expose a surface side face to a space 5 reserved with the lubricant 4, and constituted to make the lubricant 4 in the space 5 contact with the surface side face, and a reflection type optical sensor 3 arranged on a reverse face side of the transparent member 2. The optical sensor 3 includes a light emitting element 6 for emitting light to the lubricant 4 while transmitted through the transparent member 2, a photoreception element 7 for receiving reflected light of the light transmitted through the transparent member 2, and reflected in a contact part contacting with the lubricant 4 of the transparent member surface side face, and a determination means 8 for detecting the presence of the lubricant 4, based on an output from the photoreception element 7.
