PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sebum adsorbent uniformly and stably dispersible in an aqueous skin preparation for external use, and the skin preparation for external use having a fresh use feeling and exhibiting an excellent sebum adsorbing action on applying on skin. SOLUTION: This sebum adsorbent consisting of a copolymer obtained by polymerizing a polyethylene oxide macromonomer, a hydrophobic monomer and a cross-linking monomer, and the skin preparation for external use blended with the same are provided. The sebum adsorbent disperses in the aqueous skin preparation for external use uniformly and stably, and exhibits the excellent sebum-adsorbing function. The sebum adsorbent is provided by being utilized for an aqueous cosmetic containing water, having a smooth and fresh use feeling and excellent in sebum adsorbing function.
