PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing 1,3-dioxane derivatives by Prince reaction with an olefin derivative and aldehydes by using a highly active catalyst in which the catalyst is easily separated, recovered and reused. SOLUTION: The method for producing 1,3-dioxane derivative is to use at least one species of Lewis acids selected from compounds expressed by following chemical formulae (1), (2) and (3) as a catalyst: M(OSO<SB>2</SB>Rf<SP>1</SP>)<SB>n</SB>(1); M[N(SO<SB>2</SB>Rf<SP>1</SP>)(SO<SB>2</SB>Rf<SP>2</SP>)]<SB>n</SB>(2); M[C(SO<SB>2</SB>Rf<SP>1</SP>)(SO<SB>2</SB>Rf<SP>2</SP>)(SO<SB>2</SB>Rf<SP>3</SP>)]<SB>n</SB>(3).
