<p>Provided is a battery pack, which comprises a bipolar secondary battery (120) to be used as a power source for an automobile, and a cooling passage for passing a cooling medium. The cooling passage is integrated with a casing (101). The cooling passage includes an introduction passage formed along a one-end one of battery constituents for introducing the cooling medium from an inlet port (102), a discharge passage formed along the other-end one of the battery constituents for discharging the cooling medium from an outlet port (103), and a direction turning portion interposed between the introduction passage and the discharge passage for turning the flowing direction of the cooling medium introduced from the introduction passage, to pass the cooling medium to the discharge passage. Thus, the cooling medium is discharged to the same side as that, to which it is introduced. That is, the direction, in which the cooling medium flows in the introduction passage, and the direction, in which the cooling medium flows in the discharge passage, are opposed to each other. The cooling medium is passed according to this system (so-called counter flow system), so that the temperature distribution of the bipolar secondary battery (120) can be homogenized.</p> |
