A guiding system for ATM location using a telematics terminal and a method for operating the same are provided to find easily an ATM by guiding a location of an adjacent ATM. A communication unit(210) transmits data to a telematics service center. An ATM location information database is formed to store corresponding location information of each ATM. A state information database is formed to store a present operating state of each ATM and state information of each ATM. A manager interface(220) includes a key input module, a display module, and a data communication module in order to be interfaced with a manager. A control unit(250) controls each function unit, searches the location information the ATM adjacent to a particular location, and transmits the searched location information and the state information of the corresponding ATM.
