<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent jamming from occurring on fixing even if low-quality toner is used. <P>SOLUTION: A color laser printer reads quality ranks as the quality information of toner from the respective IC memories 41 of toner cartridges 30 (S110), and selects the lowest rank of the read quality ranks of respective colors (S120). Thereafter, a fixing condition is set based on the selected quality rank (S130), and this routine is finished. Thus, the fixing condition is set to be fit to the toner of the lowest quality rank out of the toner with which the toner cartridges 30 are filled.
