PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely reserve video recording of a program which will be televised in a distant future and whose EPG information is not available without the need for complicated trouble or the like.

SOLUTION: A receiver with a video recording function includes: a key operation entry section 82 for designating a period of reservation video recording not including information of hours and minutes and phrase information for denoting contents of the program being a reservation video recording object; a rough reservation storage section 303 for storing the designated period and phrase information of the reservation video recording; an EPG information processing section 301 for acquiring program information of a program guide; and a reservation program list generating section 302 for searching the EPG information depending on the phrase information to produce a list of a reservation program in response to the period of the reservation video recording stored in the rough reservation storage section 303.
