COATED STENT AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coated stent topically capable of releasing a vascular restenosis preventive agent in an indwelling site over a prescribed period and reducing the restenosis rate, and to provide its manufacturing method.

SOLUTION: The outer peripheral surface and/or inner peripheral surface of a stent base material is coated with the vascular restenosis preventive agent, especially a biodegradable polymer which is chitosan, poly-ε-caprolactone, poly trimethylene carbonate or the mixture of two or more kinds of the polymers containing a compound inactivating an α2-macroglobulin to have a chemical carrying layer. Furthermore, the coated stent has a top coating layer containing the biodegradable polymer on the surface.
