<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that an uncomfortable feeling is caused when a sound image formed by audio from a speaker does not coincide with the position of the face of an announcer especially in a source mainly comprising audio, such as news, in a video/audio reproducing unit for outputting video images and audio, and to provide the sound image formed by audio from the speaker coincident with the position of an image displayed on a display when the received program belongs to a specific genre. <P>SOLUTION: The video/audio reproducing unit 1 has: a display section 8 for displaying video images; left and right front speakers 11L, 11R for outputting at least audio; a center speaker 11C; a virtual sound source moving means 92 for moving the position of the sound source formed by the speaker; and a content detection means 7 for detecting the content of a signal to be received.
