<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protective film of a polarizing plate which can improve optical characteristics of a display, particularly luminance because the polarizing plate protective film itself has polarized light scattering anisotropy, and which is excellent in productivity and durability. <P>SOLUTION: The polarizing plate protective film having the polarized light scattering anisotropy comprises at least a cellulose ester-based optical continuous phase and domains having optical anisotropy and an aspect ratio of ≥2, wherein an average angle of directions of the domains having the optical anisotropy is in a direction perpendicular or parallel to the film forming direction of the polarizing plate protective film, and an average H of the absolute values of the angles between the average angle of the directions and the respective domains is within 20°, and wherein at least one surface of the polarizing plate protective film having the polarized light scattering anisotropy has a contact angle to water of 60-80° before saponification treatment and a contact angle to water of 15-40° after saponification treatment. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
