PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficient experiment design method using an active learning system. SOLUTION: An experiment design method for selecting experiment candidate data for use in an actually measuring device 50 by using an active learning device 30, prepares an experiment candidate data storage device 42, receives a plurality of inputs of training data including at least one descriptor and a value, outputs the plurality of items of the received training data to the learning device 30 to learn it, inputs the candidate data to be ranked by the learning device 30 to store it in an experiment candidate data storage device 42, assigns a plurality of possible different predictive values to the candidate data, generates new training data to output it to the learning device 30, makes the learning device 30 learn again on the basis of the new training data, and repeats the processing until the prescribed number of items of the candidate data will be stored in the storage device 42.
