PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device having a small number of man-hours for adjustment, high reliability and small number of components and that is low cost and compact. SOLUTION: The light source device includes an optical axis direction adjusting member and has a structure, in which an elastic member having elasticity in the optical axis direction is movable in the optical axis direction, and is disposed, such that by its movement it causes the light source supporting member to deform against the elasticity of the light source supporting member, thereby allowing an adjustment and fixing of the position of the light source, with respect to a collimating lens in the optical axis direction. The distance of the collimator lens in the optical axis direction is adjusted, after the collimator lens has been accurately bonded in advance on a collimator lens base or fixed with other means, so that the influence due to hardening of adhesive or dislocation due to vibration or the like will not be applied, and the position in the optical axis direction can be held after the adjustment.
