PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connecting tool, such as a torsion bar to be attached to an impact wrench etc. in order to carry out an operation for fastening or loosening an object to be fastened, which connecting tool can easily cause an appropriate torsion. SOLUTION: In the torsion bar 10, an intermediate shaft 11 provided between a fixing portion 5 to be attached to an anvil 2 and a socket portion 6 to be fitted on a bolt 3 is composed of a flat plate having a width W narrower than the diameters of the fixing portion 5 and the socket portion 6. The intermediate shaft 11 composed of the flat plate can be twisted at the same level as that of a shaft having a circular cross sectional shape by a load of several tens percent of the load for the circular cross section shaft. Therefore, if the intermediate shaft 11 is designed so as to be fit for various usage patterns, various usage circumstances, the control of torsion and torque equivalent to that for the torsion bar having the circular cross sectional shape can be carried out even if the length of the torsion bar is short.
