PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly operable medical apparatus appropriately releasing torque generated when rotationally turning a medical implement such as the tip end of an insertion section of an endoscope for inserting it in a patient. SOLUTION: This medical instrument is provided with an endoscope, a support device having a retaining section 100 and an operation mechanism 250. The endoscope has a base section and the insertion section extended from the base end and rotatable around a longitudinal axis. The retaining section 100 of the support device retains the base section of the endoscope at an appropriate position and rotatably supports the insertion section of the endoscope around its rotation axis. The operation mechanism 250 is provided in the retaining section 100 and rotates the retaining section 100 in the same direction to the rotating direction of the insertion section of the endoscope.
