PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat frame for embroidery, which is applicable to any methods of embroidery, capable of efficiently embroidery patterns on a cylindrical embroidery cloth. SOLUTION: The flat frame 2 for embroidery has a slender flat support frame 15, and a slender sewing window 18 is formed on the support frame 15 to demarcate the embroidery range of the embroidery cloth. A positioning tool 31 is detachably provided on the support frame 15. The positioning tool 31 has width positioning parts 32 and 33 for the support frame 15, and an opening 37 for specifying the position of the sewing window 18 from the upper side of the embroidery cloth W. The sewing window 18 can be expanded or contracted in the lateral direction or in the longitudinal direction by dividing the support frame 15 and connecting the divided parts in such a way that the position can be adjusted.
