PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a maintenance device that avoids troubles due to a wiping operation to the edge of a liquid injection head executed by wipers in the maintenance device provided with the wipers for wiping the liquid injection head. SOLUTION: A head guide unit 90 is vertically displaceably mounted at the upper part of a cleaning mechanism 22 provided in the maintenance device so as to be ascendable/descendable in a state of being apart at a prescribed distance while being upwardly biased with respect to a holder 23. A plurality of (four) caps 24 and a plurality of (four) wipers 25 are respectively provided in the holder 23 so that the plurality of the wipers 25 are reciprocatingly movable along in a longitudinal direction of the caps 24 via a wiper driving unit 220. When a wiper driving lever 223 executes one reciprocating motion within a prescribed angle range in a reciprocating motion process for wiping, a wiper driving cam body 225 coupled to the tip part of the wiper driving lever lifts the head guide unit 90 so as to allow its guide parts 91, 92 to be positioned while being fitted into the side faces of a recording head.
