<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of preventing image quality deterioration in a frame image caused by a scene change without making coding and decoding complicated. <P>SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes: an imaging element 2 for dividing an exposure time of the frame image into a plurality of times and imaging a plurality of time division images; a scene change detection section 32d for detecting whether or not a scene change takes place during imaging of the frame image; a split exposure composite section 32a for composing the time division images to produce the frame image that composes and amplifies only one of a time division image group before the scene change takes place and a time division image group after the scene change takes place in time division image groups associated with the one frame image when the scene change detection section 32 detects occurrence of the scene change so as to produce the frame image; and an MPEG image companding section 32b for coding the produced frame image on the basis of the inter-frame correlation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
