PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network management apparatus for automatically detecting apparatuses on a network whereby a user can select an apparatus of a management object among automatically detected apparatuses, and capable of preventing connection of an illegitimate apparatus. SOLUTION: The network management apparatus with a function of automatically detecting apparatuses connected to the network includes: a communication section making a connection to the network; a storage section for storing a network configuration diagram; a display section; an entry section; and an arithmetic control section that displays results of registration or unregistration of the apparatuses detected by the automatic detection function to the network configuration diagram on a display section for confirmation and registers the apparatuses to the network configuration diagram on the basis of an instruction entered from the entry section.
