PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas cylinder having a speed control function. SOLUTION: The gas cylinder having the speed control function comprises a washer 600 joined to the upper side of a small diameter portion 510 of a piston rod 500, a first piston 700 joined to the small diameter portion 510 of the piston rod 500 in an up-and-down movable manner, a control plate 800 joined to the small diameter portion 510 of the piston rod 500 for supporting the lower part of the first piston 700, and a second piston 900 joined to a medium diameter portion 520 and a large diameter portion 540 of the piston rod 500 in an up-and-down movable manner. In the case that the gas cylinder is applied to the lower part of a chair seat plate, when a person is seated on the chair seat plate, the first piston 700 controls a gas amount through a gas flow path with a load instantaneously generated while the second piston 900 is gradually moved to give a cushioning function to the seated person.
