摘要 <p>A method and a device for synchronizing the linear motion of a robotic stage with the rotational motion of a scanner gantry for producing a helical orbit in an imaging scanner are presented. An external system may be used to generate an external signal. The external signal may be based on a rotational motion of the scanner gantry. The external signal may be connected to a trigger input of the robotic stage. When triggered, the robotic stage may perform a predetermined motion. Thus, the linear motion of the robotic stage may be synchronized with the rotational motion of the scanner gantry.</p>
