A method for sharing broadcast information of a mobile terminal is provided to extract broadcast information of a currently reproduced broadcast from EPG(Electronic Program Guide) information when a key event signal is activated, convert the format of the extracted broadcast information into a suitable format, and transmits it to a mobile terminal which is to share the broadcast information. It is checked whether a key event signal for reproducing a broadcast is received(101). When the key event signal is received, a received broadcast is reproduced based on a broadcast image and sound, and EPG information is extracted from the received broadcast signal and stored in a storage unit(103). It is checked whether a key event signal for sharing broadcast information is received(105). When the key event signal for sharing broadcast information is received, broadcast information of the currently reproduced broadcast is extracted from the stored EPG information(107). The extracted broadcast information is converted into a message format suitable for transmission(109). The broadcast information in the format-converted message type is transmitted to a mobile terminal of a recipient(111).
