A TV phone is provided to enable a user to control home devices by voice and to easily confirm their states by installing a voice module to control various functions through voice recognition and interworking with a home gateway. A TV phone(100) comprises a communication module(150), a voice module(170), a processing part and a control part(200). The communication module(150) executes an interface function for interworking with a home gateway(300) connected to at least one home device(400). The voice module(170) converts a user's voice, received through an embedded microphone, into control commands. The processing part consists of a TV unit(120) and a telephone unit(140). The TV unit(120), tuned to an associated channel's broadcast signal according to the user's channel change command, outputs audio and video signals of the associated channel. The telephone unit(140) converts the user's voice into an electrical signal and transmits it to an external telephone exchange. Also the telephone unit(140) converts an electrical signal, transmitted from the telephone exchange, into a voice signal. The control part(200) transmits information, which is recognized as a command to control the home device(400) among the control commands, to the home gateway(300) through the communication module(150). Also the control part(200) transmits information, which is recognized as a command to control a function of the TV phone(100), to the processing part.
