<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface protective film for polarizing plate which has a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer strippably stuck to the surface of polarizing plate and which does not float up from the surface of polarizing plate in a tunnel shape. <P>SOLUTION: The surface protective film for polarizing plate has the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer on one surface of a plastic film and is strippably stuck to the surface of polarizing plate, wherein the plastic film is a biaxially stretched polyester film having a thickness of 25 to 38 μm, the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer has a thickness of 5 to 35 μm, and the adhesive force of the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer of the surface protective film for polarizing plate with respect to an acrylic plate in a 180° peel test of tensile speed 10 m/min at 23°C is 0.1 to 1 N/25 mm. In the surface protective film for polarizing plate, both tensile moduli of elasticity in the flow direction (MD) and in the breadthwise direction (TD) are 4,000 N/mm<SP>2</SP>or more and the ratio of the tensile modulus in the flow direction (MD) to the tensile modulus of elasticity in the breadthwise direction (TD) is 1.0±0.1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
