<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a dual screen display by which two observers can individually visualize mutually different two display images on one liquid crystal panel in a liquid crystal display device. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is equipped with a polarization control liquid crystal element 20 composed of first and second stripe portions 20A, 20B having a first retardation Φ<SB>1</SB>or a second retardation Φ<SB>2</SB>imparted thereto on a first polarizing plate 11. A plurality of lenticular lenses 30 are arranged thereon. Furthermore, third and fourth stripe portions 40A, 40B of a first retardation plate 40 disposed thereon respectively have a third retardation Φ<SB>3</SB>and a fourth retardation Φ<SB>4</SB>, perpendicularly intersect the first and second stripe portions 20A, 20B and are alternately arranged. A control circuit CNT to conduct horizontal line inversion driving of pixels 50P of respective rows of the liquid crystal panel 50 corresponding to pitches of the third and fourth stripe portions 40A, 40B is connected to the liquid crystal panel 50 arranged thereon. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
