<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for managing the number of drawn-out drop cables which allow a designer to easily design the drawing out of drop cables. <P>SOLUTION: This system 1 for managing the number of drawn-out drop cables has a controller 21, which stores the address and the residential form of a customer and the names of an aggregate article in a memory 22, if there is a new application from a customer; an update part 13 which computes the residual number of cables to be drawn out, based on the number of cables to be drawn out of a drop closure decided for the customer and the maximum number of cables to be drawn out, and updates the number of cables to be drawn out of this crop closure and the residual number of cables to be drawn out, if the computed residual number of cables to be drawn out is zero or larger; and a design supporter 32 which makes a terminal device 34 indicate to the effect that the drawing from this drop closure is possible, if the computed number of cables to be drawn out is zero or larger.
