PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the configuration of a communication device by acquiring information to be notified using an existing communication configuration between a communication device and an electronic apparatus, and transmitting the information onto a network in response to a request of apparatus information from the network. SOLUTION: The communication device detachable to the electronic apparatus is provided with an API interface for performing communication with the electronic apparatus using a first protocol while of being connected to the electronic apparatus, and a communication interface to be connected to the network with a second protocol different from the first protocol. When the communication interface receives a request to notify the apparatus information from the network; the communication device collects required information from the electronic apparatus via the API interface, and uses the collected information to generate description information suited to the second protocol.
