PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decide a range in which a target parking position can be set according to the followability of steering control of a vehicle. SOLUTION: This parking assisting device 10 assists parking at a target parking position at least by steering control. A range capable of setting the target parking position is varied according to followability of steering control of the vehicle. At that time, when followability of the steering control of the vehicle is relatively good, it is preferable that the range capable of setting the target parking position is made large compared to the case where followability of the steering control of the vehicle is relatively bad.
