METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING METAL-CERAMICS COMPOSITE MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently manufacture a large composite material with a complicated shape when manufacturing a metal-ceramics composite material by a high pressure casting process. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the metal-ceramics composite material in which SiC powder is composed with aluminum alloy comprises the following steps: a step of compacting the SiC powder to prepare a plurality of preforms; a step of bonding the mutual surfaces to be joined of the plurality of preforms by the use of an organosilicon compound; a step of heating the plurality of preforms whose surfaces to be joined are bonded with each other; a step of placing the plurality of preforms whose surfaces to be joined are bonded in a mold; and a step of pouring a molten aluminum alloy into the mold and carrying out solidification under pressure.
