PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a level difference eliminating measure for easily suspending the tip of a bridge to the uppermost step of stairs without applying tilting moment. SOLUTION: This level difference eliminating device installed in front of the stairs comprises a pedestal 3 vertically moved by intersecting posts 2, and the bridge 15 enclosed in the pedestal 3 and advancing/retreating relative to the pedestal 3 by a belt 16, a motor 17 and a pulley 18. A wheelchair or the like is placed on the pedestal 3 and lifted in this state, and the bridge 15 is advanced toward the stairs to overlap the tip of the bridge 15 with the uppermost step 6. The wheelchair or the like is then allowed to travel on the bridge 15 toward the stairs. The device comprises a cam mechanism 12 including a jump-up cam 12, a fixing roller 11 and a bridge rear end roller 14 to lift the tip of the bridge 15 from a position immediately before the tip starts overlapping with the uppermost step 6 of the stairs when the bridge 15 advances.
