A process for easily producing granular carboxylated-polymer particles which have a high bulk density and readily swell in water. The process for producing granular carboxylated-polymer particles comprises: a step in which carboxylated-polymer particles are produced; a step in which the carboxylated-polymer particles are moistened so as to have a water content of 5-25 wt.% to thereby produce agglomerates of the carboxylated-polymer particles; and a step in which the agglomerates of the carboxylated-polymer particles are dried and then pulverized.
