The foot support (29), for a prop or lifting jack (10), has a body pushed into the support tube (12) as a lifting spindle (20). The spindle has holders for swing straps of the swing foot (32) in two separate zones. The swing straps are secured to the body on a swing axis. The strap holders have support surfaces, concentric to the swing axis, to take up the support forces from the surfaces at the outer contour of the swing straps.
