The invention relates to variable-compression internal combustion engines. Said invention makes it possible to reduce the cost of an engine and to increase the reliability thereof. The inventive engine comprises at least four cylinders (2), whose pistons (1), through the connecting rods (3) thereof, actuate four corresponding crank shafts (4) each of which is provided with gears (5) which are mounted thereon and transmit rotation to the gears (6) of a power shaft (7). The modification of a compression degree is carried out by shifting the axes of rotation of the crank shafts (4) with respect to the cylinders (2) by rotating them about the axis of the power shaft (7), wherein all four crank shafts are crosswisely connected to the axis of rotation of the power shaft by means of force rods. The rotation of the axes of the crank shafts (4) is ensured by the arrangement thereof in movable nut bearings connected, by means of a screw gear, to power input shafts (10) to which the rotation of a control shaft (8) is transmitted through a worm gear.
