<p>The rest (10) has a detection device (21), with which a position of the head of a passenger present at a vehicle seat is detected relative to the rest. A drive is provided, with which the head rest is displaced relative to the seat depending on the position. The device has an electrode arrangement (22) with upper, middle and lower electrodes (23a-23c), which extend over a part of a width (B) of the head rest in a vehicle transverse direction and are spaced from each other in a vertical direction.
