A location guiding system for an underground pipe and a control method thereof are provided to enable operators to maintain and manage facilities by displaying the location and characteristic information of underground pipe facilities together with the topographical map information on a GPS(Global Positioning System) guide terminal and to check the location of facilities by applying high-precision positioning technology. A location guiding system for an underground pipe is composed of a location information receiving unit(110) receiving a location information signal from the outside; a control unit(120) for calculating the present location according to the signal sent from the location information receiving unit and searching an interested spot with centering on the calculated present location; a memory unit(130) comprising a topographical information memory part(132) storing topographical information input from the outside and a facility information memory part(134) storing information about underground pipe facilities input from the outside; and an output unit(150) outputting the topographical and facility information about the interested spot searched in the control unit. |
