摘要 Makers for the diagnosis of susceptibility to lung cancer are provided to predict and analyze lung cancer susceptibility by using polymorphisms located at a promoter of a caspase-9(CASP-9) gene closely associated with susceptibility to lung cancer. A marker for the diagnosis of susceptibility to lung cancer is at least one polynucleotide selected from a polynucleotide of SEQ ID NO:1 comprising 20-100 consecutive DNA sequences containing a 242th base(-1263rd base from a transcription-starting point of CASP-9 gene) that is substituted from A to G, a polynucleotide of SEQ ID NO:1 comprising 20-100 consecutive DNA sequences containing a 793rd base(-712nd base from a transcription-starting point of CASP-9 gene) that is substituted from C to T, and a polynucleotide complementary therewith. A method for predicting and analyzing susceptibility to lung cancer comprises the steps of: (a) obtaining a nucleic acid sample from a testing specimen; (b) amplifying at least one polymorphism region selected from a 242nd base of SEQ ID NO:1, a 600th base of SEQ ID NO:1, a 793rd base of SEQ ID NO:1 and 1212nd-1230th bases of SEQ ID NO:1; and (c) determining the base in the amplified polymorphism region.
