The device has a gas burner comprising a blower with a supply connection for air and gas, where the blower is connected upstream to a housing (7) with two chambers. An air connection is pneumatically connected with one of the chambers and a gas connection. The supply connection is pneumatically connected with the other chamber. A pressure difference is developed for the former chamber from the device surroundings and for the latter chamber from the former chamber during the operation of device. A connection (11) is provided at the latter chamber for recirculation of process gas to the burner.
