<p>A nozzle for an injection moulding machine, especially a machine nozzle, cold channel or hot channel nozzle, comprises a nozzle member composed of a shaft and a tip. The nozzle body (2,3) consists of a material with good thermal conductivity, especially copper or a copper alloy. The thermal and/or mechanical stress on the nozzle (1) is reduced by replacing the material at the stressed points with a layer (7,9) of material that can accommodate thermal and/or mechanical stress, eg an iron, nickel or cobalt based alloy. The latter material is applied using a thread, and the nozzle has cutouts.</p> |
