An image correction circuit, an image correction method and an image display device are provided to provide a brightness detecting unit and an image correcting unit, thereby preventing a gray level in a low brightness area or high brightness area from being lost and improving image display quality. An image correction circuit includes a brightness detecting unit and an image correcting unit. The brightness detecting unit detects an APL(Average Peak Level) of input image data in each image frame. The image correcting unit minimally reduces input image data brightness in a low brightness area to a predetermined rate and performs correction of the input image data for degrading the brightness of input image data in a middle brightness area according to the average peak level.
