A device for displaying an event in a portable terminal and a method are provided to display various events generated from the terminal by combining the events together, thus a user can conveniently confirm missed events as one combined list without individually moving to modes of the corresponding events. A controller confirms whether it is time for displaying an event combination list(301). The controller sequentially displays missed events in order of generation of the events(303). The controller confirms whether a particular event is selected by a user's key operation on a displayed screen(305). If so, the controller displays a screen for confirming the selected event(307), and confirms whether a management screen display menu of the selected event is selected(309). If so, the controller displays a management screen of the selected event(311).
