An apparatus and a method for controlling operations of an information processing device using moving information are provided to minimize power consumption of a battery by adjusting automatically brightness of a display unit of the information processing device on the basis of moving information. A setup information storage part(150) stores an operational environment setup value for performing a particular function of an information processing device. A function processing part(160) performs the particular function according to the operational environment setup value. A moving detection part(140) senses the moving information of the information processing device or moving information of peripheral devices. A control part(140) controls particular function execution operations of the function processing part according to an output of the moving detection part.
